Ginosa FutureS: inspiring the next generation through the Zelestra Energy Academy

In Ginosa, Zelestra marks its first kWh in Italy by launching Zelestra FutureS: students visit the agrivoltaic plant and join sessions on energy careers, while Zelestra gifts the town a solar-powered smart bench with free charging for residents and visitors.

To mark the production of its first kWh in Italy, Zelestra launched the first edition of the Zelestra Energy Academy, with the patronage of the Municipality of Ginosa, engaging more than 130 students across different stages of education. In the morning, around 80 students from middle schools, technical and vocational institutes, and universities visited the agrivoltaic plant to learn how renewable energy projects are developed and operated. In the afternoon, more than 50 local secondary school students took part in a series of interactive sessions led by Zelestra experts and industry partners, exploring the skills, technologies and career opportunities driving the energy transition.

The initiative, part of Zelestra FutureS, aims to inspire the next generation and help build the workforce needed for a more sustainable future.

As a lasting contribution to the town, Zelestra also donated a solar-powered smart bench in the centre of Ginosa. The bench provides USB and wireless charging and serves as a modern, sustainable public amenity for residents and visitors. The donation reflects Zelestra's commitment to creating shared value and leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities where it operates.
