Zelestra reinforces its home market presence by appointing Luis Alvargonzalez as Country Manager in Spain and announces Xavier Puig as new Chief Financial Officer

Zelestra, a client-focused, multi-technology, global renewable energy company, has appointed Luis Alvargonzalez as Country Manager of Spain and Xavier Puig as Chief Financial Officer, effective November 18.

In the role of Country Manager, Spain, Luis will serve as a representative of the company in the country with local stakeholders, government, investors, business partners, and communities, identifying and exploring new market opportunities, partnerships, and potential areas for business growth. Most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer of Zelestra, Luis will leverage his deep expertise and knowledge of the Spanish stakeholders to drive our continued success in our home market.

On the appointment, Luis stated, “At Zelestra, we push ourselves and our clients further. I am excited to assume this new muti-functional role and work with the broader organization to advance our strategic objectives in Spain.¨

Xavier Puig is the new Chief Financial Officer of Zelestra. He brings more than 20 years of international experience in all aspects of finance, general management and operations of large businesses.

Xavier has a proven track record of leading large teams from diverse backgrounds in multicultural environments, most notably serving as Group Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director in Spain and the UK at the European leader in low-emission circular steel production, CELSA Group. In his most recent role as Chief Financial Officer of CELSA Group’s Southern Europe operations, Xavier oversaw a large group of companies with consolidated revenues of €3 billion and 4,500 employees. He started his career at KPMG and holds a degree in Business Management and Administration from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, a Master’s in Tax Consultancy and Management (AGT) from ESADE Business School and an MBA from London Business School.

On his new role as CFO, Xavier stated, “Assuming the role of Chief Financial Officer for Zelestra is a tremendous honor and inspiring opportunity to progress the energy transition and as we say at Zelestra, ‘making decarbonization a reality’. I am dedicated to leading the Finance organization as we support and enable our Business Units to further invest in carbon free solutions to best serve our customers and many stakeholders.”
